By definition, the role of an administrative professional is to smooth out the work environment for others in the workplace. For this reason, their efforts can easily be overlooked, especially when it’s done well.
Today, is the Administrative Professionals Day, and we’d like to use this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work of administrative talents around the world.
Established in 1952, Administrative Professionals Day was originally called the National Secretaries Day. Since then, the celebration has gone through a couple of changes, reflecting the development that we have made as a society. The aim of Administrative Professionals Day is to shed light on the valuable contributions of administrative professionals and to take time to show appreciation for their dedicated devotion.
Celebrated annually, Administrative Professionals Day falls on the Wednesday of the last full week of April. Some offices would even dedicate the entire last week of April to celebrating the work of these treasured staff. It’s really no wonder, considering the amount of work they do.
Have you taken the time to thank the professionals around you who are willing go above and beyond their duties? Use this day to properly give thanks to the hard work they put in!
Here are some ideas of how you can show your appreciation on this day:
- Thank you note
- Take them out for lunch
- Flowers
- Candies & Assorted gift baskets
