High Competition for HR Roles in Asia

People Management Asia, the official magazine of the CIPD, has just published an article about pay rises in Asia, which features insights from Links International as well as key findings from our Asia Salary Snapshot. The article states the fact that “the era of the colossal pay rise is almost certainly over” and discusses pay rises by region and sector based on a range of insights across the region.

As shown in the above image, the article features part of our salary index for HR professionals across the region, which points out that HR roles are amongst the most competitive in Asia. Although this is based on last year’s Salary Snapshot, the results are pretty similar this year, as shown on page 36 of our 2016 Asia Salary Snapshot.

People Management Asia quotes Links International’s reference to the “hero or zero effect”, whereby we see employers as being much smarter with regards to handing out bonuses: “while three or four years ago a manager probably distributed bonuses fairly evenly, now they are more likely to seek out a star performer and reward them disproportionately.”
