Links Incentive Trip 2017: Rewarding our hard work!

Life should always be about balance, especially in Asia, where the lifestyle is so fast-paced and the work so demanding, so it’s important to ensure that you get a good work-life balanceThat’s why at Links, we believe in rewarding employees for their hard work. Although salary and bonus are usually the most important factors influencing a person’s enjoyment and commitment to their work, Links has an additional way to incentivise our staff…

Links-Incentive-Koh-Samui-2017-4.jpgEvery year at Links, the entire company of recruitment consultants, payroll specialists and operations staff across all of our offices in Asia are eligible to win a place on the Links Incentive Trip. Individual and group targets are set at the beginning of the year, so an invitation to attend the trip is based entirely on performance. This year, a group of us travelled to Koh Samui in Thailand to enjoy a fun and relaxing four-day holiday in the sunshine!

In line with being named the Best Payroll Outsourcing Partner in both Hong Kong and Singapore for 2015 and 2016, our entire HR Outsourcing team in Hong Kong not only met, but exceeded their group target, meaning the whole team got to come on the trip!

They were joined by Links’ recruitment consultants and operations staff who had each worked hard to earn their reward.

We managed to pack our four days full of fun group activities, whilst still enjoying the chance to switch off from work, relax and bask in the Thai sunshine!

We were up early one morning to train at a local Muay Thai gym, where we were shouted at by a Thai boxing champion! An hour’s intense workout really got our heart rates up and prepared us for our next group activity: a Thai cooking class!

We were taken to a traditional Thai house further in-land, where, after donning our “Samui Good Herb” aprons, we paired up into teams to cook and then eat a delicious eight-course Thai feast!

The following day, after a barefoot 5km run at sunrise along the beach for the early birds, our group embarked on a boat cruise to Koh Phangan island, where we enjoyed some fantastic snorkelling around the coral reef.

On our last evening in Thailand, we thought it was only fitting to attend a Muay Thai fight and watch the pros show us how it’s really done! I think we all agreed that, whilst the training is a lot of fun, we’d rather stay on the outside of the ring! We were also able to watch Hong Kong swimwear model-turned fighter, Mia Kang win her first ever professional Muay Thai fight! Go Hong Kong!

We returned to work feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to work hard again to secure our spots on next year’s Links Incentive Trip, when we hope that the entire company will be eligible to join!

Nick Lambe, Links’ Group Managing Director says: ‘’It is fantastic to be able to reward individuals for excellent performance from all areas of our business, whether they are HR Outsourcing/Payroll Consultants supporting our clients to execute vital payments or processing employment visas, to Recruitment/Search Consultants sourcing top quality talent for a multitude of different clients, all the way through to our vital support staff in Marketing and Operations who help the Links machine to run so smoothly. Without such a collegiate, successful and supportive team, our collective goals just wouldn’t be possible. Looking forward to next year’s trip, which will be even bigger and better!”
