Annual leave is calculated based on the number of completed months of service:

| 11th to 12th year | 20 days |
| 13th to 14th year | 21 days |

| 17th to 18th year | 23 days |
| 19th to 20th year | 24 days |
| 21st year annual leave | 25 days (Maximum) |
Employees can encash their annual leave if allowed by their employer’s policies. However, there is no obligation for employers to approve encashment requests.
Employees are allowed to carry over a maximum of one year’s worth of unused annual leave to the next year. Any excess leave days will be forfeited if not utilized within the stipulated timeframe.
In addition to annual leave, employees in South Korea are entitled to paid leave for national holidays, sick leave, and special leave for specific events such as marriage or bereavement.

Employers must ensure that their leave policies comply with South Korea’s labour laws and provide clear guidelines to employees. Employees, on the other hand, should familiarise themselves with their entitlements and follow the company’s leave procedures.
