Do you have a family member with a valid visa application in Singapore? Are you interested in living and studying in Singapore with your family?
The Singapore Dependant’s Pass allows children and legal spouses of Employment Pass to join them in Singapore. Employment Pass holders in Singapore are expatriates under work visa permits, sponsored by their employing company.
The Singapore Dependant’s Pass is eligible for the legally married spouse or unmarried children under 21 years of eligible Employment Pass or S Pass holders. However, the application must be done on their behalf via an employer or appointed employment agent. The Singapore Dependant’s Pass is eligible at most for up to two years and is tied to the validity of the main work pass, held by the Employment Pass or S Pass Holders.
This visa is only applicable to dependants. Dependants are taken to mean legally adopted children, or biological children (they must be under 21 years of age) and legally married spouses. The main Employment or S pass holder must apply for a Dependant’s Pass for his or her family if he or she meets these requirements:
A copy of the personal particulars page of the applicant’s passport.
Children who share a passport with their parent must also submit the parent’s personal particulars page
All documents submitted regardless must be in English or translated into such by a valid certified translation service provider
For a spouse visa (ie. applying for a spouse), a legal marriage certificate is required.
For unmarried children under 21 years of age, please submit a copy of the official birth certificate stating the parent’s names as well as Verification of Vaccination Requirements (for entry to Singapore) document issued by HPB.
For unmarried, legally adopted children under 21 years of age, a Copy of the adoption order or other relevant documents is required.
Verification of Vaccination Requirements (for entry to Singapore) document issued by HPB is necessary for foreign-born children and adoptees under 12 years of age.
The Singapore Dependant’s Pass is eligible to be renewed up to 6 months before it expires. It is valid and successful as long as the applicant or spouse pass and Dependant’s Pass requirements and eligibility criteria are met.
Online applications: the standard processing time is within 3 weeks
Manual applications: the standard processing time is within 8 weeks
The foreigner must be residing in Singapore when the pass is asked to be issued. This is due to the fact that the applicant must submit the following:
Once complete, you may need to register the relevant fingerprints and photos. The pass will be delivered to the given address 5 working days after the foreigner registers and gets documents verified.
The Dependant’s Pass also includes the benefit that the Dependant’s Pass holder can work in Singapore. However, this is provided that they find a valid job vacancy and is accepted by a registered firm or employer. They must get a Letter of Consent to work in Singapore if they find a job here. In addition, dependants of S Pass holders will need to apply for a Work Permit, S Pass or Employment Pass. For all dependants, they must have met the Dependant’s Pass requirements and eligibility criteria in any case. Looking for a job here in Singapore?
