The Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF or 強積金), is a compulsory pension saving scheme in Hong Kong. MPF was established for companies to provide mandatory pensions to employees including self-employed persons.
Employers are required to enrol both their full-time and part-time employees (except for exempt persons) aged 18 to 64 who have been employed for a continuous period of 60 days or more in an MPF scheme within the first 60 days (calendar days including holidays) of their employment.
MPF contribution calculation in Hong Kong is determined by the employee’s relevant income.
