Singapore Employment Pass (E-Pass)
The Singapore Employment Pass is a work visa issued by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. This is intended for use by foreign professional employees, expatriates and other owners, managers or directors of Singaporean-based companies and firms. The Singapore Employment Pass allows you to live and work in Singapore, as well as enter the country without applying for the entry permit.
Who Can Apply for Singapore Employment Visa?
Please note the following Singapore Employment Pass Requirements:
- Must be admitted to or working in a valid managerial, executive or specialised job.
- The applicant must be of a sound educational background. He or she preferably should have a tertiary education and a relevant undergraduate degree or otherwise valid proof of other qualifications, certificates, abilities, achievements or work experience.
- Possess a minimum fixed salary of S$3,600 per month. This usually applies to young graduates, however more experienced senior candidates may need higher salaries to qualify.
Documents Needed for Employment Visa Application
An EP Application Form 8, duly endorsed by the employing Singapore company
A copy of your updated resume and relevant education academic certificates
Reference letters and recommendations from previous employers
A passport-size photograph, taken within the past three months
A copy of your passport
A copy of the business profile of the employing Singapore company or firm
A detailed description of the job responsibilities and requirements
A detailed description of business ventures, the activities and products

Application Procedure and Timeline
Please note there are two ways of applying for a Singapore EP- online and manually.
- You may register online for your EP if the employing Singapore company has registered for an EP online account. Online applications are normally completed within 3 weeks from the date of submission.
- You may also submit a manual application. Please attach all supporting documents as listed above. Manual applications are usually completed within 8 weeks from the date of submission.
- Please note the Singapore Employment Pass processing time may vary by several days or weeks

- If you draw a minimum fixed monthly salary of S$6000, you may bring you and your family and dependents to live with you in Singapore
- successful Employment Pass holders may apply for a family visa called the Dependent’s Pass (DP)
- DPs expires at the same time as the EP.
- Legal spouses, unmarried handicapped children above 21 years old and unmarried step-children under 21 years old of successful EP holders may also apply for another benefit, the long-stay visitor visa also called the Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP). Details of Singapore Employment Pass Renewal
If you have already been granted a Singapore Employment Visa and have been working in Singapore and wish to renew your Singapore work permit, the process is simple and convenient.
An Employment Pass renewal form will be sent to your employer’s registered business or office address three months before your EP expires. Please note that the EP renewal application should be completed at least four weeks before your EP expires. Once your renewal application is approved, your employer will receive an approval letter stating that you will need to visit the MOM office in Singapore to collect your new renewed EP for immediate use.
