As of 1 February 2025, the minimum wage in Malaysia is MYR 1,700 per month. This means that workers in Malaysia are guaranteed to earn at least this amount each month. These figures are regulated by the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia, which tracks changes in minimum wage.
Failure to comply may result in fines ranging from RM1,000 to RM20,000 or imprisonment for up to five years.
Additionally, the government has postponed the implementation of the RM1,700 minimum wage for employers with fewer than five employees. The new enforcement date is set for 1 August 2025.
