Are You Up to Date with Vietnam’s Latest Regulations & Laws?
Long regarded as a promising location for hiring in Asia due to its stability, rapid developments and government initiatives, Vietnam’s employment scene been growing at an impressive rate over the last few years. According to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Q4 of 2023 saw a total 51.5 million employees, an increase of 130,400 compared to Q3.
To keep up with this expanding workforce, Vietnam has introduced some crucial labour laws as of late, such as:
- a 6% national minimum wage increase set to take effect on 1 July 2024,
- a new common minimum wage table with adjustments to pensions, social insurance benefits, monthly benefits, and preferential benefits for meritorious people,
- updated requirements for hiring foreign workers, and recruiting and managing Vietnamese workers,
- updates to the list of occupational diseases covered by Social Insurance.
For both employers and employees alike in Vietnam, keeping tabs of these labour laws has never been more important!
